The 1973-74 era was filled with historic events. The country was
in the middle of an Energy Crisis, as the Vietnam War moved into Cambodia.
The Watergate Scandal was in full swing, leading to Nixon's resignation and a dark
hour in American history.
On the positive side, OJ Simpson rushed for 2,003 yards with the Buffalo
Bills and Hank Aaron broke Babe Ruth's career record of 714 home runs. It was also the year when the World Trade Center's
twin towers were opened.
As well, dissident author Aleksandr Solzhenitsyn was expelled from the Soviet Union,
and Patty Hearst put the Symbionese Liberation Army on the map.
