It's been 3 years since pcs1979.com was created, and we have had over 200,000 visitors and 2 million hits.  What started out as an amateur attempt to prepare for a high school reunion, has turned into a growing animal.

Presently, we average about 230 visitors each day.  We have a good 2,000 regular fans around the globe, and we get emails from everywhere...especially Portvillians who live far from our hometown.

The website has evolved into a communication center for more than just the PCS class of 1979, and hundreds of folks (from dozens of classes) have been re-linked to one another directly and indirectly.  The site has become an important connection point for many people, and for many former residents and alumni, it is their only link to the current Portville.

Interestingly, 10% of the visitors are from neighboring towns, who usually tune in to the videos.

Many computer-savvy Portville grads from around the country check in every day as well.

Math Challenge - Story Problem 4.19

If you are driving a Chevy pickup at an average of 45 miles per hour down the back River Road, how long does it take to travel from the Olean Rod and Gun Club to Toot's Pizza and back, given that the total distance is 7.6 miles and you run into Deputy Dog along the way, spending exactly 16 minutes listening to him warn you about the dangers of driving recklessly?
