The 1999-2000 version of the Portville boys' basketball team won more games in one season than any
Panther squad in history.
Their 22-2 record against fierce competition resulted in a Section VI
Class C-2 Championship victory over Westfield at Buffalo State College.

Portville started the season by winning the Genesee Valley Tournament and the Hinsdale
Tourney. The Panthers accumulated a 10-0 Expressway Conference record, capturing the crown.
During the season, they defeated tough teams from Bradford, GV, Franklinville, and
Bolivar.
They beat Cassadaga Valley, Panama, and Westfield in the Class C-2 playoffs, taking
the championship trophy.

Coach McMahon won the Thomas K. Oakley Memorial Award for the Big 30 Coach of
the Year.
Jeff McMahon and Bill Torrey made the Big 30 All Star Team.
Juniors McMahon and Brian Blask joined MVP Torrey on the Expressway Conference All
Stars.
Chris Moses and Torrey played in the Catt County Exceptional Seniors All Star Game.
To top it off, the team led the Big 30 in Scholar-Athlete GPA.
