Possum Planet
Things got rough for American GIs at the very end of the Vietnam War. During the final
days, when the last of the draftees were sent overseas, only the youngest and craziest were sent into the Nam jungles.
This is the story of the last group of American commandos sent to that conflict...a group
of naive volunteers who had minimal training, plenty of guts, and no idea of their bizarre future away from home.
After a full year of military training at Fort Drum in the Adirondack Mountains, the commandos
were called into service, but their plane crashed just minutes after take-off. Left stranded in the wilderness
and deluded by their concussions, they raided tiny settlements in the Upstate New York region, believing that they were actually
in Vietnam.
